What is your application process? We have clients fill out a form on their animal’s behavior, likes and dislikes, temperament, and health and also emergency contacts and owner's information. What are your vaccination requirements? Distemper-Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations are required every 6 months - 3 years depending on their veterinarian. In addition, all dogs must be on a flea prevention program from May-September. Have you ever turned down any dogs before? If so, for what reasons? Yes. We have a “No Tolerance” towards aggression policy. Will I meet the sitter/walker? Yes. How many dogs do you walk/session? There is no pack walking. There is a maximum of 5 dogs/session and we do our best to match up dogs based on size and temperament. How long do you walk my dog? For group walks, the dogs are walked for one hour (which starts in the park, not in the car). For private walks, your dog is walked for 30 minutes. Can I request off-hours sitting/walking session? Yes for an additional charge. What is your cancellation policy? 24 hours. What do you do when my walker is not available to walk my dog? There will be another professional dog walker who is experienced, bonded and insured. The client will be notified in advance. What do you do in case of emergency? We quickly assess the emergency to determine what plan of action to take. Our concern is always what is best for the animal. Depending on the emergency, we will either rush the pet to our vet, or in non-emergency situations, we make the effort to take them to their own vet. We always make the effort to contact the owner to get their permission on our course of action. Do you have a vet on call? Yes. Have you ever had any incident with your clients, such as property damage? No. However, Suburban Runaround is fully bonded and insured. Do you provide other services, such as watering plants and bringing in the mail? Yes. Please refer to a list of services offered under the “Lifestyle Management” section of this web site. What forms of payment do you accept? We accept cash and personal checks. There is a $25.00 service charge for returned checks.
